2006 Champlain World
Explorers and Settlers Day Dual Cancel.
(Washington
D.C./Canada)
I found a nice image showing Champlain in
a large Indian Canoe about to make land.
The image that
I found was in Black and White...
... so I had to take some license
with deciding what colors to use. This has been a very popular
design... only a couple left.
SC-001 - Samuel Champlain Dual Cancel
From the buyer of the first Champlain - #1 of 6, ..."I received your package of covers today. I am extremely happy. I have over 100 Champlain FDCs
and so far yours is the best!! The two Garbo covers are delicious. I especially like the pencil plus water color of the
director and cameraman. The Cinco de Mayo is very well done."... Barry N Kaplan.
*(Barry also has added the #1 of 10 of the second Champlain design to his collection.)
SC-002 - Dual Cancel - Ft. Ticonderoga / Canada (Available)
For this design I went with another image of
Samual Champlain this time studying his maps...
...maybe
right after landing the canoe shown on my first design...!
The two designs complement each
other very nicely.
