After a lifetime of "dabbling" in art I have finally found a practical way to utilize my gift, have fun, and share it with fellow First Day Cover collectors!

Over the years I have painted in oils for friends and family.  I also played with cartooning mostly for fellow workers who wanted birthday cards, anniversary cards, newsletter illustrations and the such that "looked like" other fellow workers.
(Seems like it never failed that everyone except the "victim" thought the drawings looked "just like 'em"!)

There have been a few occasions where in my full time Commercial Printing profession that I have been called on to provide illustrations for various publications.

Two times my cartoon work was published in the Home Game Programs for the Dallas Cowboys.

More recently I did a caricature of a famous author for an event brochure cover for Friends of the Dallas Library.

My start in the Cachet Making Game came late in 2005 actually completing my FIRST CACHET 50s Sporty Cars Sets in early 2006.

Start Slow 'n Easy!...

My overall plan is to start "slow" and establish myself among the Cachet Making/Collecting Community.

Hoping that when I retire from Commercial Printing in six to eight years I will be able to devote full time to keeping those collecting Emrick Cachets supplied with quality hand painted cachets.

Can't Seem to Hold Back!
From the beginning I found it very difficult to follow my plan!
I'm having so much fun with this that everytime a new stamp comes out I find myself thinking of ideas for illustrating a cachet for it!
... so, even though I set out to "take it slow 'n easy"... I know I won't let many issues go by each year without getting cancelled covers and working up designs for them as each comes out! ...even if it takes me longer on some to get them painted and ready for selling.

"Paint as Ordered Plan"

This is why I have decided to move forward even though I can not devote "Full Time" to cachet making.
I'm hoping that collectors will understand that depending upon how many orders I have at any given time it may take a little while to complete and deliver the requested cachet covers.
