AFDCS Contest Award!
I have now received my customer's cover that was entered in the 2008 AFDCS Cachet Makers Contest.
I also received a VERY nice Award Plaque for my efforts. I have posted
a photo of the award which is a very well done - color correct print of the cover matted and framed with a line of copy describing
the win. I will hang this with pride and will work harder to maybe win
top prize next year! There will be only 12 of these in existance...
seven are taken... only five available - let me know if you are interested in ordering any of the remaining five covers.

Honorable Mention - 2008 Cachet Makers AFDCS Contest...
Orders Still Comming In! It's been awhile since my last
post on this blog... the orders continue coming in and basically I'm still working on 2007 and '08 stamp issue FDCs.
Still looking for some 2009 issue orders. I do have blanks for just about all of them!
The Year of the Rat Pack... Winning Cover! The biggest news since my last post is the
"Honorable Mention" - I guess that means 2nd Place... in the Hand Drawn - Hand Painted category for this
year's (2008) AFDCS' Cachet Makers Contest.
I entered my Dual Cancel '08 Chinese Lunar Year (of the Rat) and '08
Frank Sinatra. Combining the two of course came up with "The Year of the Rat Pack".
It's a fun
design where I took on the challenge of painting the likeness of five celebraties... Looks like I was "humbled"
by a painting of the Hubbell Space Telescope!
I have a link on the site that will take you to the Virtual Stamp
Club's pages that show all of the winning entries.
I haven't really received any word from the AFDCS... don't know
if they post anything on their site... do I get a certificate... a 2nd place red ribbon... or do they ring a bell somewhere...???
I didn't attend the show in Boxborough MA... so maybe I missed out on any fanfare that may have taken place...
Oh well, it was fun and at least I did show up in the results!
Only
a few "Year of the Rat Pack" covers left... I do have only five of these award winning covers
left... they are unpainted, but can be put on my infamously long schedule list if you are interested.
Because I
paint as cachets are ordered, the actualy cover entered belongs to one of my Customers... and we are awaiting word as to just
when I can expect to have it returned... so I may deliver it to him.
Thanks for stopping
by and for taking time to read this. Let me know if you have any interest in putting a cover or
two on the schedule... I may never catch up... but hey, that's GREAT! Always room for one more! :0)
