USCS Convention Cachet Design - ALMOST DONE!
Thought I'd update everyone since it's been awhile since I last made an entry.
As of this writing
I have orders to paint eleven cachets and am running a little behind schedule. If you were to place an order request
today it would probably be a couple of weeks before the finished cover could be delivered... but, don't let that
stop you... I'll be caught up soon!
The USCS 75th Anniversary Convention Cover Design has been taking
up most of my evenings and weekends recently. It is just about finished so by this weekend I'll be back on track
painting the cachets already on order.
The "theme" for the USCS cover is "Operation Highjump 1946-1947".
I am painting oversized artwork for this one and the covers will be printed from a scan of the artwork... (not
hand painted as the Emrick Cachets are...)
I am planning however to offer the same design in a Hand Painted format
so, keep watching I'll post them when ready. Since Operation Highjump took place at the South Pole I'm
using the new International Polar Year Stamp - Aurora Australis (South Pole Lights) that will go nicely with this design.
It may take a month or so to get the cancellations and design ready for painting...
Please, continue
to come back and look for new cachets from time to time and if you have a moment, sign my guest book!

Keepin' Busy!
A Few More "Garbos" I've just received word that I will be receiving enough
Dual Cancel Greta Garbo Covers to do two more Garbo Designs. I'm convinced that these two (fourth and fifth) designs
will be the last. I will make eight of each - same as the other three. If I have a few covers left over there
just may be a sixth but I'm sure there will be even fewer of these than eight.
USCS Convention
Cover The design that I submitted to the Universal Ship Cancellation Society for the upcoming Rocky Mountain
Stamp Show Convention in Denver has been accepted. I should have artwork for this completed within the next week or
so. I'll post a scan of the artwork to give you'all a preview when it's ready. These will be
printed - not hand painted cachet covers sold at the convention.
I plan on using the same design for a Hand
Painted Version using the upcoming Polar Stamp Issue First Day Cancel. The design is based on a historic Antarctic
Naval Operation.
Ella Fitzgerald I have some neat ideas for this stamp... will be doing
several designs once again. Some of the very best ideas came to me from a very good customer who collects Black Heritage
cachets. My appreciation to him for the ideas!
